Beautiful city with wonderful architecture and history.
Beautiful city with wonderful architecture and history. Public transport is excellent once you work out how it works, would recommend googling it before you go, the tram system is excellent and not expensive, but there are also buses and trains. Would recommend trains from Milapensa airport as taxis are very overpriced. You can also walk as mostly flat and wonderful wondering the streets.
The parks, castle, cathedral and shopping malls are all superb to visit but some things sell out so book in advance.
Visited in April and the weather was like summer so enhanced our stay.
English spoken in tourist areas but not as much outside but everyone is so lovely and tries to help.
So much shopping and eating choices you will be spoilt for choice.

Milan is like any other metropolitan city: crowded, but with interesting places to see and things to do. Heavy police and army security in city center with forbidden access to some areas. The restaurants in city centre are very expensive, the same foods can be found on the neighbouring streets.

Beautiful city,Gothic cathedral in the heart of Milan.Galerija Vittorio Emanuele II,,Bosco Verticale .. We came to the city with a car, parked it at the hotel and continued to travel by metro. The only drawback is the street "sellers" on every corner (roses, bracelets...) literally jump on you and don't give up.

Milan is near to many cities.
Milan is near to many cities. We could drive to most of them. Milan itself has a lot to offer. We liked the Domo, Leonard Da Vinci museum and the fashion shops. There is also plenty of designed outlets near Milan. Ski resorts are also near. We ate lots of pizzas. Transportation in Milan is convenient.

The best place to visit was Duomo cathedral.
The best place to visit was Duomo cathedral. We did visit early on Sunday morning. The terrace view is amazing and great places for photos. But inside is breath taking, we even managed to catch Sunday mass. The second was park Sempione.
Public transport is very convenient. The stops are well signposted.
Central Milano is best to walk around. you can see everything, even the small beautiful streets. But between further places we used the p.transport.
There are a lot great restaurant and places to eat. So many places to get a gelato and drinks.

The Lancaster Hotel is a beautiful hotel located 20 minutes walk from the city centre of Milan. The staff were very helpful and polite, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was really nice. The owner Mr. Filippo told us about the history of the hotel which dates back to the beginning of the 1900s, this makes you appreciate this beautiful building even more. We had a very pleasant stay at the Lancaster Hotel and I would recommend it for sure and we would definitely stay again.
We were grateful to have this comfortable and convenient hotel for the last two nights of our travels in Italy. The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location couldn't have been better for us. It is less than two blocks from Milano Centrale for the Metro to easily see the sights and explore the city, and the train to the airport on our way home. We got a good deal on Booking.com so it was very reasonable as well.
we spent two weeks in Italy in different locations and Hotels, that was the worst by far. I called before we go to ask for a room with a bathtub because my back hurts they said my room has it but it didn’t. the room smelled so bad, after we complained and 2 hrs later they moved up to a different room. it didn’t have hot water and it is winter. it was really bad experience I will never go there again.
the stuff was horrible and not helpful at all.
The property was really nice and cosy with 2 big beds, felt very homely for someone that was born and raised in Italy, the host was very nice and made sure we were alright all the time he also helped when finding places to eat, replied very quickly when we needed him. Before check in we received a video about the property that was very informative and detailed, the place is also located next to a tram so it was easy to get to city centre
beautiful place to stay when you are in Milan. Close to the city centre and in the middle of night life - absolutely in the heart of Naviglio Grande. You get out of the hotel and you walk by the canal and just choose which one bar you will drink in, but when you come back into the hotel, you come to one cosy, historic and calm place with comfort rooms, delicious breakfast and super kind and helpfull staff. i hope we will come back
The hotel was a stone's throw from Milano Central train station. So it was very convenient for us who are travelling by train to our destinations in Italy. I particularly liked their smoking area in the hotel that was located on the top floor, which was open, much like a roof top smoking area but shaded. Breakfast in the hotel was fantastic with various choices of cold cuts pastries and desserts for only 13 Euros.
A perfect start to our stay in Italy: all the charm of an old-world hotel with modern luxury due to a recent renovation. Lots of warm marble in the bathroom!Marco was able to offer us every kind of assistance. We slept well in our very sound-proofed room, despite its central location and proximity to wonderful window shopping and great cappuccino like that we had Chic & Go nearby (their pastries a must!).
The location is the main feature. Just around the corner from the Central Station, you will be easily connected to the metro and train station to travel around Milan and Italy. There are also many food options around. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. They helped us storage our luggage. Also they have a lot of activities to help set the mood for new tourists in town.
The staff at this hotel were amazing! from the doorman, to the floor staff, the concierge, spa, the barman - they made our visit to the hotel as relaxing and enjoyable as we could of imagined for our first stop in Italy. thank-you so much for all your work there!! the hotel itself is beautiful and in the centre of Milan. - great and easy location for just about everything!
We needed a place that was close to the train station and this fit the criteria. We got in kind of late and the walk was about five minutes. We didn't feel unsafe walking to the hotel like some places in Italy.
The beds were comfortable, very firm which I loved. Breakfast wasn't bad either.
The staff was very friendly and a surprise compared to other places we've been.
the staff were friendly and gracious helped us book restaurant reservation too. Breakfast was the best of all the hotels we stayed at in Italy. Good spot for the money in Milano, convenient (walkable) to both Piazza Duomo and Navigli, the canal/waterfront hotspot with thousands of waterside restaurants and patios and a lot of people!
Great location in the heart of Milan. Really superb location with key restaurants, shops and attractions within blocks of the apartment. It is fabulously furnished, with a super comfortable bed and has a really boutique feel about it. One of the best breakfasts we had in a hotel travelling Italy for 3 weeks.
I liked the position of the hotel, near the city centre and the main station of Milan.
I loved my stay in Demidoff Hotel Milan. I loved the staff, very nice with me and my friends. The rooms were very cleaned and bigger than I expected!
We will coming back during our next stop in Milan!
rooms where very clean staff very friendly breakfast was good a few blocks from Milano Centrale train station neighbor in general seem to be safe for a big city I can not comment on value since I do not have a lot experience comparing hotels in Italy as i would in the US
I would appreciate this things: quiet location of Milano, direct connection to the city centre, perfect caffe bar just across the street, safe parking in hotel area, very good breakfast table, nice rooms and nice personal. I recommend for everyone travelling to Milan.
Great Location! The hotel is close to Milan Central Station and Metro and just a bit walk approx. 3-5 min from hotel. That mean you can go to everywhere in Italy :)
Breakfast is great and variety. I am happy to stay in the hotel.
A clean, spacious, and welcoming place to stay in Milan. Situated not too far from the city centre, and there are many public transports nearby the hotel. On top of that, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
First hotel in Italy to offer a fridge with some products included in the price. Nice one. The 3 different prices for the breakfast, great idea. Spacious room for the price. Very nice attention on the front desk.
We usually skip hotel breakfasts in Italy but this was superb. It gave us so much energy we walked into the city centre and back and still had time to make our midday flight. Excellent staff too.
This hotel works perfect specially for the location, was incredible convenient for my last night in Italy to get the shuttle bus to the airport. for me was perfect
